 Homes of the South Inc. Kevin Johnson and Kyle L. Pace both of who have extensive real estate backgrounds founded Homes of the South in October of 1996. Both worked for years at East West Partners’ best selling community of Davis Lake in Charlotte helping people find their new home in the large master planned community. They founded Homes of the South and www.charlottehomes.com in 1996 after seeing the future of home buying and how the Internet was changing that.  Kevin Johnson co-founder of Homes of the South has a long and successful real estate career. He has sold homes and real estate in the Charlotte and Lake Norman market since 1989. He is a Charlotte native (a rarity in this day here in Charlotte) but has lived in several places around the country such as the Philadelphia area, San Antonio, Texas, New Jersey and the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington DC. He calls North Carolina home and has lived here since 1986. He has an undergraduate degree in Urban Planning from East Carolina University and a Master of Business Administration from UNC-Charlotte. Some brief career moves outside of the real estate industry were with a major technology supplier and a dot com.  Kyle L. Pace co-founder of Homes of the South comes from a long real estate background. Growing up she learned quite a bit from her father who owned one of the largest real estate firms in eastern North Carolina. She has worked in new home sales and specializes in 1031 tax-free exchanges and location of rental and investment properties. She is also a licensed auctioneer (NCAL#7301) and has conducted several real estate auctions. Her auction company is called Kyle L. Pace Auctions (NCAL#7300) She enjoys scuba diving, interior decorating, and acting. She is a native of Rocky Mount NC and grew up in Wilmington, NC.  Suzanne Simpson  Combs has had a very diversified career which included working at some of the largest computer technology companies, being a flight attendant, and even a cattle rancher in Florida. She is a native of historic Charleston, South Carolina and currently lives on Lake Norman. She is married and has one daughter Caroline. She graduated from Winthrop University in Rock Hill SC.  Shawn Actis began his professional career in the technology field selling computer products and Internet service. After spending more than 6 years in the technology field, he decided to pursue his dream of becoming an Airline Pilot. Just as his airline career got off the ground, and he was flying for US Airways Express, the tragic events of September 11th caused him to be furloughed in November of 2001. Since then Shawn has enjoyed his new career in the real estate field. He is working with commercial buyers as well as residential buyers, and says he loves spending time helping others find their home. “I look at this business as an opportunity to help others find their dream, the dream of owning a home of their own.” Shawn was born in Sacramento, CA. but grew up all over the country notably near Boston, Nashua, NH and he went to College at Franklin Pierce. He has also lived in San Diego, the Philippines, Virginia Beach and now Charlotte. Shawn is married to Jenny and still flies often for NASCAR racing teams, private companies and for fun.  Jennifer Actis (Jenny), a graduate of Agricultural Engineering from the University of Kentucky, has spent most of her career in the Irrigation Consulting industry. Long hours and several years of ACAD work combined with a gregarious personality had prompted her to find more satisfying work, and is happy to have found that balance in real estate. Although Jenny grew up in Kentucky before moving to Charlotte via Nashua NH, and loves to visit her family and Keeneland whenever possible, now considers Charlotte home and her favorite place to live.  Susan Stoltzfus  Susan is a Lake Norman Area specialist.  While she is happy to help you in other areas, she has lived in the Lake Norman area for over 20 years and knows it thoroughly.  Her original career as a school music teacher gives her a unique perspective and knowledge about the local school districts.  Susan was born and raised in Ohio and graduated from Otterbein College in Columbus, Ohio.  She is married with two children, David and Leanne and lives in a waterfront home on Lake Norman.  She was initially licensed in Real Estate in NC in 1985 and has owned her own real estate rental company for over 15 years.  Susan is a caring, fun-loving person who enjoys helping people realize their real estate dreams.   Jason Fitzgerald of Fort Mill, SC orginally hails from Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Jason Fitzgerald attended Tulane University where he was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 1st round.  He went on to enjoy his professional baseball career for 6 years.  He has since retired and moved on to the Real Estate world.  Jason has been involved in Real Estate for 2 years.  Also, he enjoys buying distressed houses and making them look beautiful.  After Hurricane Katrina, Jason and his wife, Jessica, settled in lovely Fort Mill, SC.   Lynne Lainis Lynne moved to Charlotte, with her family, from 
NJ in 1981. Lynne's family moved around quite a bit, but being
originally from Southern roots, she considers Charlotte her home town.
Her passion for real estate began when she became a first time home
buyer in 1988. She began helping her friends and family find homes in
and around Charlotte until finally getting her license and becoming an
official agent. Great customer service, follow up and an attention to
detail are trademark's of Lynne's, her goal is to provide her client's
with as stress free a process as possible. Familiar with all parts of
Charlotte, old and new, and it's surrounding counties, Lynne considers
SE Charlotte, Weddington and Ballatyne as her specialty areas.
Experience outside the real estate industry have included owning and
operating her own professional photography studio and 8 years in sales
and management with a corporation. Lynne lives in SE Charlotte with her

husband, George a native of Charlotte, her son Harreson and their two
cats. They are members of St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church and the
